Sports Recovery with City Cave

Are you ready to elevate your recovery journey?

There’s nothing worse than having an injury prevent you from doing the things you love. At City Cave, we want to support you on your recovery journey through our therapeutic wonders of Float Therapy, Infrared Sauna, and Deep Tissue Massage. Each offering is crafted to provide relief, promote recovery, and enhance your overall sense of wellness.

Let’s explore how these offerings can help you step toward a healthier, happier and pain-free you.

Float Therapy

Not only is it an opportunity for some ‘me’ time, but the magnesium-rich substance in our float pools is known to enhance muscle relaxation and accelerate the healing process. Float therapy can complement physiotherapy, chiropractic, or massage therapy by reducing inflammation in the joints and muscles. The zero-gravity environment can provide relief for damaged muscles, and joints, increasing energy levels and promoting ease of movement. Just 60 minutes in our float therapy can make a significant difference! Alongside our sports-related injured clients, those battling conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, tendinitis, bursitis, and more, have shared inspiring testimonials.

“A very relaxed, friendly atmosphere where you can unwind and relax. The float session is great for a nurse like me because it allows for an environment free of noise, stimuli and creates an ideal place to recharge my battery. Definitely highly recommended!” - Reen Sol

Infrared Sauna

There’s no worse feeling than sore spasming muscles! Whether you're dealing with sports-related injuries or chronic pain, our clients have found Infrared saunas relieve tight, overworked muscles and joints.

Infrared saunas can work to combat these symptoms by boosting circulation, aiding in the removal of waste products, and delivering oxygen-rich blood to muscles, promoting faster recovery - yay! The deep, gentle warmth can reach beneath the skin, relaxing muscles, reducing spasms, soreness, and inflammation in muscles and joints - exactly what you want when injury strikes!

Massage Therapy

Knots, knots, knots! You know those hard muscles you feel in your body that you get after working out? These knots are actually tight muscles, scar tissue and muscle adhesions that form when muscles are broken down or over worked. These knots cause painful inflammation, and if not managed can lead to overuse of other muscles resulting in unwanted injuries.

Deep tissue massage is designed to relax the muscles through trigger pointing and releasing the tension in the knots. At City Cave, your massage therapist will begin with light pressure while your muscles warm up and then work into a deeper pressure. Noting that while remedial massage therapy can, at times, be uncomfortable, you should not experience high levels of pain. A deep tissue massage will promote a faster recovery journey and ensure your muscles are in optimal condition for your sporting endeavours.

“Great service and there are always plenty of massage appointments available. I’ve had both remedial and relaxation massages, and they’re amazing. They tailor the session to your individual needs and I always walk out of the session feeling great and any little niggle gone!”

When you live a very active lifestyle, sports related injuries are inevitable. Whilst they are frustrating, it’s important to take the time to recover properly! City Cave’s offers work to support your road to recovery and get you back ‘to the grind.’
