Tunteeya is a Registered Psychologist and published researcher who is passionate about assisting individuals overcome symptoms of anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, relationship and adjustment problems. She spent several years in the inner-city suburbs of Sydney working for various clinical and organisations in the private and public health sectors including NSW Health. Tunteeya uses modern scientific approaches to therapy such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to help individuals learn skills to not only improve the quality of their life but also help them to find meaning and purpose.
Tunteeya believes successful therapy is empowered by a professional, non-judgmental and engaging environment with a touch of humor and light-heartedness. Tunteeya uses an evidence-based approach to treatment tailored specifically for each client, emphasizing his or her unique individuality, strengths and life situation. Tunteeya has undergone mindfulness and self-compassion training in London with Dr Kristin Neff and participates in continuing professional development regularly. She believes that mindfulness doesn’t always have to be a sit-down meditation practice, though it can be very beneficial, there are many different ways to build awareness.
Tunteeya is also a TEDx Organiser and hosted an event in 2018 titled “The Process of Creative Change", which included speakers wanting to make a positive difference in the field of business, mental health, disability and creative design. Tunteeya's interests are influenced by her Japanese/Ghanaian cultural heritage and she enjoys art, food and music from around the world. Her current hobbies are running, gym, art and graphic design.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we require 48-hours’ notice. This notice is required as a courtesy to the psychologist and other clients who may require care. Appointments that are cancelled or not attended within this time period will be charged a cancellation fee of $95.00. This charge will not be claimable through Medicare or Private Health.
The Australian Psychology Society (APS) publishes a recommended schedule of fees as a guide to psychologists providing private psychology services. The 2018-2019 Recommended Schedule of Fees has set the standard 45 to 60 minute consultation fee at $251. Tunteeya’s philosophy is to be able to help most people who is seeking psychological assistance, so her fees are less than the recommended fee schedule. Her fees are set at an accessible rate so that clients including concessions can access her services.
Tunteeya is a registered provider with major health care funds and she has HICAPS facilities for easy claiming. You may be eligible to claim partial costs of the consultation fee with your private health provider. Please contact your provider for further information to see whether your level of cover is eligible for psychological services.
Tunteeya provides psychological treatment under the Australian Government’s Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. If you are eligible for a Mental Health Care plan referral from your GP you may be able to access a Medicare rebate of $84.80 per session for ten sessions per calendar year.
